QURAN warned MUSLIMS of being divided into SECTS, just like the PREVIOUS nations.

SECTS:

[6.159] Surely they who divided their religion into parts and became sects, you have no concern with them; their affair is only with Allah, then He will inform them of what they did.

[21.93] And they broke their religion (into sects) between them: to Us shall all come back.[23.53] But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them.

[27.45] And certainly We sent to Samood their brother Salih, saying: Serve Allah; and lo! they became two sects quarrelling with each other.

[72.11] And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways:

[30.32] Of those who divided their religion and became seas every sect rejoicing in what they had with them

[19.69] Then We will most certainly draw forth from every sect of them him who is most exorbitantly rebellious against the Beneficent God.
